Can I combine ptosis correction with double eyelid surgery?
Double Eyelid SurgeryMy Korean plastic surgeon suggested that I might benefit from ptosis correction (눈매교정) in addition to double eyelid surgery. He mentioned that my eye-opening muscles are a bit weak, which makes me look tired all the time. Has anyone combined these two procedures? I am concerned about whether doing both at once will extend my recovery time significantly. Also, will the results look more dramatic than just getting double eyelid surgery alone? I want my eyes to look more awake but still natural. Any advice from people who have had this combination surgery would be greatly appreciated!

Yes — combining ptosis correction (눈매교정) with double eyelid surgery is very common and is often done in the same session. If your levator muscle is weak, a double-eyelid crease alone can still leave you looking sleepy, so correcting the muscle is what actually makes the eyes look more open and awake. Doing both together does not add much to recovery versus double eyelid alone, since it is the same surgical field. Results look more refined rather than more 'dramatic' when done well. The key is precise tuning of lid height and symmetry, so choose a surgeon experienced specifically in ptosis work.
