Best Korean clinics for melasma and hyperpigmentation treatment?
I developed melasma after pregnancy and it has not faded even after 2 years. I have tried many over-the-counter products and even prescription creams but nothing has worked. I have heard that Korean dermatologists have advanced techniques for treating stubborn pigmentation. Has anyone successfully treated melasma or hyperpigmentation in Korea? What treatments did you receive? How many sessions did it take? Did the pigmentation come back? I need to find a solution because this has really affected my confidence. Any clinic recommendations and realistic expectations would be appreciated.

Post-pregnancy melasma is notoriously stubborn because it is hormone- and sun-driven, so the goal is control rather than a one-time cure. Korean dermatologists typically combine gentle, low-fluence ('laser toning' with Q-switched/pico Nd:YAG) over multiple sessions with topical agents (tranexamic acid, sometimes oral tranexamic acid, vitamin C, azelaic/kojic acids) and strict daily SPF — aggressive lasers can actually worsen melasma, so conservative settings matter. Expect gradual fading over months and a maintenance plan, since relapse is common without sun protection and ongoing topicals. Be wary of any clinic promising fast, permanent clearance. Realistic, consistent management is what works.
