All three remove fat; the differences are in energy and skin tightening. Traditional (tumescent) liposuction is the proven workhorse with smooth results in skilled hands. VASER (ultrasound-assisted) emulsifies fat before removal, can be gentler on surrounding tissue, and offers modestly better skin retraction — so the claim about skin tightening has some truth for mild laxity, though it is not a substitute for excision when laxity is significant. Laser-assisted methods similarly aim for some tightening. For belly and love handles with good skin elasticity, results between methods are often similar; surgeon skill and even fat removal matter most for smoothness. Recovery (compression, swelling, back to routine in ~1–2 weeks for these areas) is broadly comparable.
