Post-surgery care in Korea - what services are available?
I am planning to have facial contouring surgery in Korea and will need to stay for about 2-3 weeks for recovery. What post-surgery care services are available in Korea? I have heard about recovery centers and "jimjilbang" (Korean spas) but I am not sure what is appropriate after surgery. Are there special recovery hotels or guesthouses near Gangnam clinics? What about lymphatic drainage massage services? Do clinics provide follow-up care or should I arrange this separately? I want to ensure I have proper care during my recovery period since I will be alone and far from home.

Korea has a well-developed post-surgery ecosystem. Options include dedicated recovery hotels/care centers near Gangnam that cater to post-op patients (nurse check-ins, soft meals, swelling care), recovery-friendly guesthouses, and clinics that provide their own follow-up visits and dressings. Lymphatic drainage / swelling-reduction massage is widely available and often recommended after contouring or liposuction. Avoid jjimjilbang saunas and hot baths early on — heat worsens swelling and bleeding risk in the first weeks. Confirm with your clinic exactly which follow-ups they provide versus what you must arrange separately, and since you'll be alone, consider a recovery center or a short coordinator service for the first days after surgery.
