I'm 34 and I've had droopy eyelids my whole life. Everyone always asked "are you tired?" or "did you just wake up?" NO I JUST HAVE SLEEPY EYES OK lol
Finally got ptosis correction and omg the difference. I actually look awake now?? It's wild.
The surgery was fine, nothing crazy. Local anesthesia so I was awake which sounds scary but it wasn't bad. Just felt some tugging. Took like 2 hours because the doc kept having me open my eyes to check if they were even.
Recovery was annoying more than painful. Couldn't wear contacts for 3 weeks which sucked because I hate glasses. Eyes were dry for a while too so I was using drops like every hour. Swelling lasted about 2 weeks - worked from home the first week, then wore sunglasses to the office the second week lol.
Now at 4 months post op and I seriously look like a different person. Well not THAT different but my eyes are so much bigger and brighter. My mom said I look less angry all the time haha.
Would 100% recommend if you have the sleepy eye thing going on. Just don't expect instant results - it takes a few months to fully settle.
