ugh ok so i've had terrible under eye bags since my early 30s. like the puffy kind that make you look exhausted 24/7. concealer did nothing. tried every eye cream on the market. finally gave up and got surgery.

the procedure was called lower blepharoplasty or something. basically they went in through the inside of my eyelid (no external cut which was important to me) and removed/repositioned the fat.

day of surgery i was NERVOUS. like couldn't eat breakfast nervous. but it was honestly fine? they gave me something to relax and i barely remember the actual procedure. woke up with ice packs on my face looking like a raccoon.

first week was rough not gonna lie. major bruising - like purple and yellow under both eyes. i looked like i got beat up. worked from home obviously. my husband kept bringing me frozen peas for my eyes lol.

week 2-3 bruising faded and i could see the results starting to show. now at 3 months and WOW. the bags are completely gone. i look rested even when im exhausted. don't need nearly as much concealer.

only downside - my lower lids felt weird and tight for like 6 weeks. not painful just... odd. doc said it's normal as everything heals. all good now tho!

Cons

bruising was intense, weird tight feeling for weeks after
